Member Spotlight

It’s no secret one of the best things at DRC is the friendly and supportive community we have built. So many lasting friendships have been built within our gym and it’s amazing to see.

From time to time we would like to acknowledge a member who we believe has stood out in not only commitment to training, but how they support other members.

One of our beautiful members Rachael is an amazing example of this. Rachael has been a member with us for the best part of a year and since day one has gone out of her way to greet every member with a big smile and offer her support and encouragement to all. Rachael is dedicated to her training and as a mum of two boys still makes time to fit her training in.

Everyone that meets Rachael instantly loves her kind nature and big smile. We have asked Rachael a few questions so we can all get to know her a little better.

Tell us about yourself.

I am 32 years old and have two boys, I run my own photography business. I have always loved training and have tried many different programs but Crossfit is different from them all. I feel stronger at 32 then any other time in my life.

What is your favourite things about training at CrossFit DRC?

I love how the coaches give you that confidence that you can do whatever you put your mind to. Every movement is done with correct technique and each class feels like a PT session. The community feel of DRC and how my achievements are celebrated as are everyone elses, It is the best way to start the day.

What movements would be in your ideal workout?

My Favourite WOD would have to be anything with lunges and deadlifts, maybe a calorie burn on the rower, deadlifts and jumping lunges. I really enjoy when we do partner WOD's.

What is your favourite cheat meal?

Cheat meal... woodfire pizza with rocket, goats cheese, Prosciutto (anything with goats cheese really) or a baked cheese cake!

Name one fitness goal you would like to achieve by the end of 2018.

For 2018 I want to be realistic and keep making small gains on my strength, I want to be fitter, slim down & be able to do a pull up! Can't wait to compete in next years open to see my improvements.
